Of liberty I would say that, in the whole plenitude of its extent, it is unobstructed action according to our will. But rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual. --Thomas Jefferson to Isaac H. Tiffany, 1819

Emergency Preparedness
When my friend Neil Wright asked me to write an article on the subject of emergency preparedness I responded with an enthusiastic “yes”. While there is a plethora of good information available on the subject, there’s also a lot of bad information out there as well.
This article is meant to serve as a primer for some, as a refresher for others, and is by no means definitive or all encompassing. There’s no way it could be. What it will be is a solid foundation for you to prepare yourself and your family so that you will be able to care for yourselves for a period of several days in the event of an emergency or wide spread disaster.
Every family in America should be able to care for themselves for 72 hours at a minimum during a disaster. That’s the minimum. As we all saw during Katrina, help can be longer in coming. And indeed when it arrives it may not be very much help at all. This isn’t meant as a slap to the literally thousands of government workers who responded during that hurricane. They were quite simply overwhelmed by the scope of the disaster. In some cases aid didn’t arrive for a couple of weeks.
You are ultimately responsible for the safety, security, and the well being of yourself and the ones you love. Therefore you had better start planning now. Trying to locate food, water, and shelter during a disaster is a recipe for, well, disaster.

An open letter to Washington, D.C.
This letter is published to advise the federal government in Washington D.C. and all agencies of the so-called "federal" government, that this SOVEREIGN AMERICAN will NOT submit to the marxist/communist coup currently taking place in Washington, D.C., and will ACTIVELY OPPOSE IT.
This SOVEREIGN AMERICAN will IGNORE any laws, rules or regulations that come from Washington D.C. that further restrict the FREEDOM and LIBERTY of individuals, and will in the future IGNORE any PREVIOUS, UNConstitutional laws, rules or regulations that have restricted the FREEDOM and LIBERTY of individuals in this country.

Self Defense
Now if you’re not prepared to defend yourself, your family, and your supplies with lethal force if necessary, stop reading right now. You’re already light years ahead of most people as far as preparedness goes. It would however be a real shame if all your hard work were taken from you by some knuckle dragging thug who sees your hard earned property as something he can just take from you by force.
It would be an even bigger shame if that knuckle dragging thug decided to kill you while he did it.
However if you’re prepared to deal with the very real possibility of having to use a weapon to defend your life of the lives of the ones you love then read on.
Now I’m willing to bet that more words have been written on the subject of self defense than one could get through in an uninterrupted lifetime so I’ll try to distill it down to a few basic, simple choices.
For most people the most expedient tool for defending ones self in a disaster situation will be a firearm. Firearms are called ‘the great equalizers’ for very good reasons. With one a person of smaller stature can defend him or her self from a much larger individual bent on harming them. The caveat is that the person defending themselves must be reasonably proficient in the use of the chosen firearm.

No more compromise!
By: Neil E. Wright
As I sit here watching the current political game unfold, I have been thinking. Thinking long and hard about the changes I've witnessed in the last 40 years of my life, since I took the oath to the Constitution when I joined the Navy in 1969.
In 1969, the country was filled with a mostly conservative, Constitution loving, America loving peoples. But thanks to "compromises" made then, and since, the country has become more divided and splintered.
